Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) – a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group – donated a total of 53 tents to the Ministry of Health & Social Services (MoHSS) in support of government’s initiative to provide shelter for homeless Namibians during the COVID-19 war, in the Khomas and Erongo Regions. Some of the tents are also used for primary health care for the homeless.
NBL Managing Director, Marco Wenk: “As a proudly Namibian corporate that cares for the wellbeing of Namibia and her people, NBL is committed to supporting government during these very challenging times, and we hope that our donation towards this cause will make a difference and uplift the lives of those that will benefit from it. Applause also to government, specifically the MoHSS for this thoughtful initiative.”
According to Helen Mouton from the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Response to COVID-19 team of the MoHSS, close to 500 homeless people are being sheltered at the two sites set up in Windhoek – one in Khomasdal, and the other in Katutura. Mouton: “We are extremely grateful for NBL for their support, which will go a long way in the upliftment of those that will benefit from these shelter sites during this challenging time. Thank you NBL and specifically NBL MD, Marco Wenk for your passionate and caring gesture.”
