Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) – a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group – celebrated another outstanding achievement at the annual 2019 internationally established Deutsche Landwirtschafts Gesellschaft (DLG) Quality Evaluation awards ceremony which took place late last year in Germany.
NBL walked away with four Gold Medals and one Silver Medal at its 14th participation in the international platform that examines the quality of the product to taste- analytical-, and biological standards. According to NBL’s Head Brewer, Christian Müller, this international taste and judging platform is exclusive to beer brands that are brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot (Purity Law of 1516). Müller: “The DLG Quality Evaluation platform is critical as an accredited institution to evaluate and confirm consistency in quality. Our successful participation and outstanding track record at the DLG evaluation simply confirms NBL’s commitment and dedication to producing only top quality Namibian products. Our annual participation is thus extremely important in maintaining the standard we have set – it pushes boundaries, and inspires our brewers to aim for ultimate quality, and of course drives NBL to keep focused on delivering only the best.”
One of NBL’s innovations and introductions to its portfolio, Tafel LITE, participated for the first time in the DLG Awards and walked away with a Gold medal. Other NBL brands that participated (for the past 14 years) include: Windhoek Draught (Gold), Windhoek Light (Gold), Tafel Lager (Gold), and Windhoek Lager (Silver).
