O&L Group Launches Mach10, Ushering in a New Era of Technological Excellence

The Ohlthaver & List Group (O&L) is proud to announce the rebranding of Dimension Data Namibia to Mach 10, marking a significant milestone in the Namibian ICT landscape. The 100% acquisition of Dimension Data Namibia by O&L and the birth of Mach 10 signals not just a change in name but a bold transformation that places the company at the forefront of innovation and digital transformation in Namibia.

On 10 October 2024, at an exclusive launch event held at Droombos, Windhoek, Emma Theofelus, Namibia’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology, delivered the keynote address, emphasising the pivotal role technology plays in Namibia’s economic future. “The world we live in today is defined by rapid technological change and digital transformation. Across industries, technology has become the critical backbone of modern economies, driving growth, innovation and improving livelihoods. It is no secret that information and communication technology is central to our national development agenda. The Namibian government continues to prioritise the ICT sector as a key enabler for economic growth, job creation and social development. In our quest for a more digitally inclusive society, the private sector plays a crucial role as a partner in this journey. In this context, the evolution of Mach 10 (Dimension Data Namibia) comes at a pivotal time—one that speaks to Namibia’s potential and its future as a digitally enabled nation. I wish to commend the Ohlthaver & List Group for the forward-thinking vision that has led to the full acquisition of Dimension Data Namibia and the subsequent evolution of a new brand identity – Mach 10 – that signals not just a change in name but also a bold ambition to lead with innovation, excellence and impact”, the Minister said.

Speaking at the launch, Annalize Van der Merwe, Mach 10 Managing Director, reflected on the company’s history and the significance of this new chapter. “Dimension Data Namibia’s evolution into Mach 10 is not just a rebrand; it symbolises a new era of possibilities. Our vision is to offer world-class digital transformation services delivered by a local team that understands the unique needs of Namibian businesses. The name Mach 10 embodies speed, power and the relentless pursuit of excellence by going beyond boundaries, making the seemingly impossible a reality. That is our commitment – helping businesses thrive in a digitally driven world.”

The new brand enjoys access to NTT DATA Corporation’s – a Japanese multinational information technology service and consulting company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan – latest technology and innovative insights, ensuring it remains at the forefront of the industry, providing cutting-edge tech solutions to its clients. “With Mach 10, the sky is not the limit; it’s just the beginning,” Van der Merwe added, highlighting the company’s focus on delivering services and solutions that empower Namibian businesses to compete on the global stage.

Minister Emma Theofelus echoed this sentiment: “Mach 10’s transformation and commitment to innovation, local talent development and capacity building reflects our potential to be a digitally enabled nation, strengthening both the O&L Group and Namibia’s standing in the regional and global ICT landscape.”

Sven Thieme, Executive Chairman of the O&L Group, expressed his excitement for the journey ahead. “At O&L, we have always believed in creating positive change and inspiring possibilities by being ‘Authentic, Caring and Passionate’. It is with immense pride that we stand here together to celebrate O&L’s achievement of 100% ownership of Dimension Data Namibia – a pivotal moment that underscores our commitment to investing in Namibia’s future and pioneering the way forward as this milestone is not just for O&L or Mach 10 – it is for Namibia.”

Thieme went on to say that the acquisition of Dimension Data Namibia is much more than a business transaction; it aligns seamlessly with O&L’s bold strategic vision for 2029. “Our Vision 2029 calls for bold leadership, innovation and a focus on creating a sustainable future for Namibia. The world is changing rapidly and to ensure we not only keep up but lead, we must embrace the opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution. By taking full ownership of Dimension Data Namibia (Mach 10), we position ourselves at the forefront of this digital transformation, ensuring that O&L continues to be a catalyst for change, growth and progress”, stated Thieme.

The launch of Mach 10 comes at a critical time when Namibia is embracing digitalisation as a key driver for economic growth, job creation and inclusivity. The company will continue to offer cutting-edge IT services, cloud solutions and cybersecurity expertise, laying the foundation for a modern, resilient economy.

As Namibia’s newest ICT brand, Mach 10 is set to lead with innovation, ensuring that local businesses can confidently navigate the digital landscape and excel in a rapidly changing world.
