The Ohlthaver and List (O&L) Group of Companies has proud Namibian roots and an established legacy of operational excellence which will span 100 years on 21 October 2019. Through living our purpose “Creating a future, enhancing life” we share innovation and have been creating amazing experiences and enduring positive impacts since 1919. Our Group has diversified from its banking origins to encompass 13 operating companies in various sectors ranging from manufacturing, information technology, property development, advertising and retail to hospitality. Currently we are the largest privately-owned group of companies in Namibia creating a future and enhancing life for more than 6200 employees. 

Employee Engagement is at the forefront of connecting the hearts and minds of our employees to the Group’s purpose Creating a future, Enhancing Life, while instilling, enhancing and celebrating the values Let’s talk, Let’s do it, Hooked on results, Naturally today for tomorrow, We grow people, We do the right thing right and We all serve.

We have, over the years, developed numerous initiatives to engage, encourage and celebrate our employees as part of the Mwenyopaleka (re-birth) culture:

Communication consists of a weekly What’s On Emailer; Open forum,  monthly Leadership Emailer and Invocoms as well as ad-hoc postings on Yammer, Bulk SMS, O&L App, Pay slip flyers and the Chairman’s Briefs.

Engagement activities include touch point sessions, Café conversations, MLT Day, GPTW focus groups, Value Star Awards, Edutain, the Mwenyopaleka Roadshow and the 12 Season Awards.
